3. Telling them about their offer

What data someone will get depends on their mobile network. Some networks cannot offer data to Pay-as-you-go (PAYG) customers.

You should tell them:

  • if there is an offer they can use (or if there is no offer available)
  • the details of that offer
  • that they’ll receive a text message when their free data has been activated
  • when their free data will end
  • that this data can be used when tethering a mobile phone to another device for internet access
The offers below are dependent on children and young people meeting all of the criteria listed in our guidance. Requests will be unsuccessful if these criteria are not met.

Network offers

  • The recipient will get 20GB data per month until 31 July 2021.
  • The offer is available to both Pay Monthly and active Pay as you go customers.
  • A text message will be sent to the nominated device once the additional data has been added to the account.
  • Asda Mobile will aim to process the request within 14 days.

  • The recipient will get unlimited data per month until 31 July 2021.
  • The offer is only available to Pay Monthly customers.
  • The recipient must have been a BT Mobile customer for at least 3 months.
  • A text message will be sent to the nominated device once the additional data has been added to the account.
  • BT Mobile will aim to process the request within 14 days.

  • The recipient will get unlimited data per month until 31 July 2021.
  • The offer is available to both Pay Monthly and active Pay-as-you-go customers.
  • The recipient must have been an EE customer for at least 3 months.
  • A text message will be sent to the nominated device once the additional data has been added to the account.
  • EE will aim to process the request within 14 days.

  • The recipient will get 100GB of additional data, subject to giffgaff's terms and fair use policy.
  • The offer is available to any eligible member with an active giffgaff goodybag.
  • The offer cannot be applied to accounts that are using credit only.
  • A text message will be sent to the nominated device once the additional data has been added to the account.
  • giffgaff will aim to process the request within 14 days.
  • giffgaff will not accept requests for students over the age of 16.

  • The recipient will get unlimited data per month until 31 July 2021.
  • The offer is available to both Pay Monthly and Pay as you go customers.
  • A text message will be sent to the nominated device once the additional data has been added to the account.
  • iD Mobile will aim to process the request within 14 days.

  • The recipient will get 30GB data per month until 31 July 2021.
  • The offer is available to both Pay Monthly and active Pay as you go customers.
  • A text message will be sent to the nominated device once the additional data has been added to the account.
  • IQ Mobile will aim to process the request within 14 days.

  • The recipient will get 20GB data per month until 31 July 2021.
  • The offer is available to both Pay Monthly and active Pay as you go customers.
  • The recipient must have been a Lebara customer for at least 3 months.
  • A text message will be sent to the nominated device once the additional data has been added to the account.
  • Lebara will aim to process the request within 14 days.

  • The recipient will get 20GB of additional data per month until 31 July 2021.
  • The offer is available for active Pay as you go customers with a Lycamobile SIM card. They must have had credit, and made and received calls, in each of the last 3 months.
  • The recipient must have an active £10, £15 or £20 bundle, which includes data.
  • The monthly data increase can only be given if the recipient continues to have an active £10, £15 or £20 bundle each month. If the qualifying bundle expires, Lycamobile will not provide additional mobile data.
  • A text message will be sent to the nominated device once the additional data has been added to the account.
  • Lycamobile will aim to process the request within 14 days.

  • The recipient will get 40GB of additional data per month until 31 July 2021.
  • The offer is available to both Pay Monthly and active Pay As You Go customers.
  • The recipient must have been an O2 customer for at least 6 months.
  • A text message will be sent to the nominated device once the additional data has been added to the account.
  • O2 will not accept requests for students over the age of 16.
  • O2 will aim to process the request within 1 month.

  • The recipient will get 100GB of additional data.
  • The offer is available to Pay Monthly customers.
  • Sky Mobile customers will be able to see the data uplift in their piggybank.
  • Sky Mobile will aim to process the request within 14 days.

  • The recipient will get unlimited data until 31 July 2021.
  • The offer is available to both Pay Monthly and active Pay-as-you-go customers.
  • A text message will be sent to the nominated device once the additional data has been added to the account.
  • SMARTY will aim to process the request within 14 days.

  • The recipient will get 20GB of additional data per month until 31 July 2021.
  • The offer is available to both pay monthly and active pay as you go customers.
  • A text message will be sent to the nominated device once the additional data has been added to the account.
  • Tesco Mobile will aim to process the request within 14 days.

  • The recipient will get unlimited data until 31 July 2021.
  • The offer is available to both Pay Monthly and active Pay-as-you-go customers.
  • The offer is not available to customers with a mobile broadband account.
  • A text message will be sent to the nominated device once the additional data has been added to the account.
  • Three will aim to process the request within 14 days.

  • The recipient will get 20GB of additional data per month until 31 July 2021.
  • The offer is only available to Pay Monthly customers. It’s not available to Pay-as-you-go customers.
  • A text message will be sent to the nominated device once the additional data has been added to the account.
  • Virgin Mobile will aim to process the request within 14 days.
  • Wi-Fi hotspots are open to all existing customers, including those on Pay-as-you-go. Customers on Pay-as-you-go will need to have a minimum of £5 credit. Instructions to download the app and find their nearest hotspot can be found by going to www.virginmedia.com/wifiapp.

  • The recipient will get unlimited data until 31 July 2021.
  • The offer is available to both Pay monthly and active Pay as you go customers. Pay as you go customers must have a Big Value Bundle worth £10 or above to be eligible.
  • A text message will be sent to the nominated device once the additional data has been added to the account.
  • Vodafone will aim to process the request within 14 days.
